His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, presented Hospice Egypt with the 1st place award for the “H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Excellence and Community Intelligence Program.” Notably, Hospice Egypt was the only winner from Egypt this year, achieving the award under the category of “Entities Taking Initiative in Supporting and Sponsoring Community Issues.”
Solidifying Hospice Egypt's credibility and strengthening its ability to advocate for terminally-ill patients and their families, this honorary award represents a crucial milestone for regional growth and integration of hospice care. The award also serves as a testament to the thousands of lives Hospice Egypt has impacted and the critical need to continue serving an overlooked segment of patients with compassion and dignity.
For over a decade, Hospice Egypt, a proud national foundation member of the Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance, has offered invaluable support to terminally-ill patients and their families by bringing the global concept of hospice care to a region where access to such care is limited. Through strategic local and international partnerships, the organization has amassed unparalleled expertise in comprehensive care.
Dr. Tandiar Samir, general manager of Hospice Egypt, received the award and conveyed her heartfelt gratitude. "We are delighted" Dr. Tandiar stated, "to receive first place for our efforts in ensuring dignity and care for an often marginalized and underserved population. As the founding organization for hospice services in Egypt, this recognition reinforces Hospice Egypt's commitment to expanding our efforts and advocating for the adoption of comprehensive free-of-charge hospice care for terminally-ill patients and their families throughout the MENA region.”
