On October 28, 2023, Hospice Egypt celebrated World Hospice Day with the participation of more than 120 participants from rowing clubs, and in coordination with the Egyptian Rowing Federation, 5 rowing clubs, and one sailing club.

Run for Hospice

On Friday, July 14 - 2023 and for the second year in a row, and organized by Hospice Egypt, A Run for Hospice Marathon was held on the banks of the Cairo Nile in the Manial region, in cooperation with the Rx Runners team, with the participation of more than 300 runners representing the volunteers in Hospice Egypt and a large number of students of governmental, public and private universities, and in the presence of representatives of the National Cancer Institute, the strategic partner of the Foundation in Caring for terminal patients.

Hospice Egypt participated in the annual bazaar at the Church of All Saints in Zamalek

In November 2022, Hospice Egypt team participated in the annual bazaar held at the Church of All Saints in Zamalek in celebration of the Christmas and New Year holidays among more than 150 institutions and associations working in the charitable and developmental field to raise awareness of the role of Hospice Egypt in providing free of charge hospice services to patients in the late stages of their illness.

Hospice Egypt Celebration of the World Hospice Day On 21st of October 2022

Under the theme of “Healing Hearts and Communities” Hospice Egypt celebrated the World Hospice Day with more than 150 attendees including hospice Egypt volunteers in Heliopolis Public Library. The agenda of the day started with a speech given by Professor DR Nabil Helmy the CEO of Heliopolis Public Library explaining the importance of collaboration between different NGOs in disseminating the Hospice Egypt concept and services in the Egyptian community

The team had focused the visit’s goal on raising awareness among the club members on the services provided by Hospice Egypt which are targeted at patients on their last days as well as their families. The club members were among the most understanding, nay, enthusiastic about the idea of Hospice Egypt.

Celebrating Mothers day

With a generous invitation from the Share Smile Foundation to attend the celebration of Mother's Day, which was held on the banks of the Nile on the island of Maadi, the Hospice Egypt team accompanied a number of sick mothers in their last days to participate in the celebration, believing in the importance of psychological and social support for these patients and the patient's right to enjoy life until the last moment in life.

A training course for volunteers in Hospice Egypt

In view of the importance and value of the role that volunteers play, the Hospice Egypt team is keen to hold training courses to develop the skills related to dealing with patients in their last days. That is why the Hospice Egypt team organized a training day for volunteers in February 2021, which included a variety of sessions, including a lecture given by a psychiatric consultant, Dr. Ahmed Hussein, in which he talked about the episodes of anger that the patient experiences in his last days and how to deal with them.

Hospice Egypt Training Workshop for Energetic Volunteers

Derived from our belief that volunteers are the heart of hospice, A two day induction was held on the 15th and 16th of September 2013 by the Hospice Egypt team. The attendees included Hospice Egypt's mobile hospice volunteers, permanent staff and community leaders. The multi-disciplinary atmosphere stimulated continuously active interaction. The agenda included an introduction about the Hospice Egypt project, what hospice care meant, roles of volunteers, as well communication skills.
