Hospice Egypt Celebrates World Hospice Day (Cairo Runner)

Coinciding with celebrating World Hospice Day on Friday 10th of October 2014, the Hospice Egypt team joined Cairo Runners for a run or walk, to raise awareness about hospice aiming to support terminally-ill patients. More than 100 volunteer application forms were filled throughout the day that began at 6:45 a.m. and ended at 9:00 a.m.. A short presentation about the Hospice Egypt project was held when the participants were back from their 7 km run or walk. Being part of this event allowed new routes to inform more of the society about the hospice services. Also, it involved the community in running for a cause and presented a diverse platform to engage more volunteers with the project. The day was a refreshing proactive experience and the Hospice Egypt project expresses gratitude to Cairo Runners for the fruitful work done together. The Hospice Egypt team is looking forward to more community involvement events and to cooperate with entities and organizations that would further support our mission to provide hospice care services for terminally-ill patients and their families that are in need in Egypt.
