Our Impact Is Measurable

Hospice services are found worldwide mainly in developed countries; however there is an immense need for these services in low-middle income developing countries such as Egypt. The project is alleviating the suffering of thousands of patients and family members through leading the hospice movement in Egypt. Every patient and family we serve is documented on our confidential data system and to make sure our services meet up to quality standards we analyze our data regularly.

Hospice Egypt organized a workshop for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy - British University in Egypt

10 November ,2024 On November 10, 2024, Hospice Egypt organized a workshop for students from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the British University in Egypt enrolled in an elective course on palliative care. The workshop aimed to introduce the students to the principles of palliative and hospice care, enhancing their understanding of compassionate patient support during the final stages of life. The workshop included a lecture by Dr. Rania Younis, who discussed the global concept of palliative care for terminally ill patients, known as hospice care, and highlighted the critical role of Hospice Egypt in this field. Dr. Younis shared insights into the work of Hospice Egypt, Egypt’s pioneering civil society organization providing free-of-charge services for end-stage patients across Greater Cairo. Her lecture emphasized the importance of a multidisciplinary team, including the pharmacist as an essential member, in delivering holistic care that upholds the dignity of patients and relieves their suffering. Hospice Egypt participates in the first international conference of the Faculty of Nursing - British University in Egypt

5 November ,2024 At the invitation of Dr. Maha Adel, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at the British University, On November 5, 2024, Hospice Egypt participated in the first international conference organized by the college where Dr. Rania Younis, Assistant General Director of Hospice Egypt, gave an introductory lecture about Hospice Egypt in which she explained the vision, mission and goals of Hospice Egypt explaining the various types of support provided to patients in the late stages free of charge. She also highlighted the importance of the role of the nursing staff in providing comprehensive service to the patient who falls under hospice car. Members of the Hospice Egypt team distributed brochures to the participants and invited them to volunteer and donate to the organization’s patients. Hospice Egypt’s participation in the conference is considered a prelude to signing the joint cooperation protocol, which aims to spread the concept of caring for patients in the late stages among college students through various lectures and workshops. 13 October ,2024 In celebration of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, on 13th October 2024; the Geriatric Hospital of Ain Shams University invited Hospice Egypt to attend the scientific day organized by the palliative care unit at the hospital, in the presence of many doctors from different specialties, to give an introductory lecture about Hospice Egypt’s free services for patients in the final stages of their illness. “Hospice Egypt” celebrates World Hospice Day 2024 with a charity marathon on Zamalek Island

11 October ,2024 In celebration of the tenth anniversary of the World Health Organization's declaration on the importance of integrating palliative care and hospice into the comprehensive healthcare system for member states, in October 11, 2024, Hospice Egypt, in collaboration with the RX team, organized a charity marathon for World Hospice Day 2024. The event was attended by volunteers, faculty members, students from various Egyptian universities, and featured distinguished journalist Gaber Al-Qarmouty as the guest of honor. The marathon aimed to raise community awareness about the need to provide health and psychological care to patients in advanced stages of illness, uphold the dignity of these patients and their families, and encourage university students to engage in volunteer work. The celebration began at Al-Nahr Park in Zamalek with welcoming remarks from Hospice Egypt and the RX team. Participants then embarked on a three-kilometer race along the Nile on the island. The Hospice Egypt team gave a presentation attended by 150 women from Inner Wheel clubs across Egypt and the Arab countries, shedding light on the organization's essential role in providing compassionate care to those in need.
